Digital Party Invitation

I made this invite for my parent's 60th b'day party later this year, using MyMemories Suite Digital Scrapbooking Software - there are so many things you can do with this other than scrapbooking. :D  This was very handy, since the invites all went out via email.
What's fun about this software is that you can take designs and pictures from anywhere (I got this background design from the net) and incorporate them into the program - you're not bound to only use their pictures and backgrounds.
The flowers are from their program and I was able to use the program as well to design the wording, eg the "60" I made 3D and I could bend the wording too to form an arch.

Anyway, just thought I'd show what else you can do with this software.  Another idea coming soon! :D

P.S.  remember that if you want to buy this program, use my special discount code in my right side bar over here somewhere ----->, and you'll get $10 off!

Halloween Drinks Bottles

For our halloween party I'm going to be making punch to drink, which will be served out of wine bottles that I've decorated:

First I decoupaged some ordinary black paper around the body of the bottle to cover the lables, then once dry I decoupaged the printed pictures on top of that (I just googled some halloween pics).  I also painted the neck of the bottle black to cover up the coloured metal piece that usually surrounds the top of the bottle....ya know what I mean?  When that was dry I painted decoupage all over the bottle to round it off nicely, including over the black paint at the top, because the paint scratches off very easily.
After adding this printed piece, I painted it black around the edges - the straight white edges of the picture just didn't do the spooky theme justice.
I wanted to use a skull and crossbones somewhere, and I thought this one was hilarious...hehehe.
At least I can say I did some crafty recycling for the party. :)

Halloween Invites

We got started early with these invites 'cause we're hoping to inform the few people we're inviting early enough so that they can be available in October. :D
I basically just googled some images, cut them out and glued them together to make this card. I started with black card stock, cut out a skeleton menu frame to glue on, but then it was white in the centre, so I cut out a piece of ordinary black paper and glued it over the white centre of the invite.  Then I searched for cute halloween images to add.  I mounted the ghost with 3D foam dots, and glittered the bat to make the whole thing a little less dull.

The invite details are on the back:
I added some googly eyes that are supposed to look like they're staring at you out of the dark...but....ya, it didn't turn out as spooky as I'd imagined, lol.

Since halloween costume parties are not as big a thing over here as they are in US, I wanted to make sure the guests KNEW that it was a costume party (even though it does mention so quickly in the invite wording, but you never know what some people miss or look over), so I made an extra little tag to add in the envelope with the invite:
Hehe....

And then for the envelopes:

I printed out their names in a "scary" type font and cut it out with fancy scissors.  Then I added a piece of torn black paper to the corner...I was going to glue on a pair of googly eyes again to make it look spooky, but it ended up looking more like a black triangle version of Spongebob Squarepants or something, so I just omitted the eyes.

And to make sure that the tag didn't end up being overlooked in the bottom of the envelope, I just sealed the envelope with some of the tag ribbon sticking out...so that it can't be missed.

Party Invitation Card

I made this card for Totally Paper Crafts Challenge's Challenge # 47!
The theme for this card is "Time to Party", so I made this party invitation card:
It's a card, but with an invitation on the front.  And inside you can add whatever other party information you want to.
I layered 2 shades of green paper and white card stock, and stamped on the party details with green ink.
I added some party confetti's and bling:
That smudge of glue is just me being clumsy with glue again...I always seem to get glue where it doesn't belong!

And stamped a little party themed stamp inside the card too:

Not too complicated. :)

Party Gifts for Guests

A special party at my house feels incomplete if my guests don't go home with a little gift. :D  So for our engagement party, I baked really delicious peanut butter and oatmeal cookies and sent the guests home with a little cookie-filled gift bag:
Some guests got a little organza bag and the others got a paper bag (I just bought these little baggies and decorated them with a butterfly sticker).

I always try to keep guests gifts simple, yet cute. :D

Budget do-it-yourself Wedding Creations - My Wedding

I had a ball planning our wedding! :D  I made the guests' gifts and a few other cute goodies as well.  I don't have a photo of the invites we (me and mum and sister) made, so I'll post that later.

I put together these little sweetie bags for the guests to take as they were walking into the chapel.
I used small organza bags and filled them with some minty heart sweets that had wedding-related messages printed on them.

I also printed little "Order of the Day" scrolls that I rolled up, tied with purple raffia, and put in the sweetie bag as well.  Here's a photo of them in the chapel:

Instead of having confetti, I bought little bottles of bubbles, which I decorated with organza ribbon and a butterfly:
I guess you can tell that my wedding theme was all about butterflies and purple. :)  I found these cute butterfly bubble bottles to match my theme.

For the reception, I made table seating plans.  I bought plain picture frames and decorated them:

I used pretty champagne coloured pearly paper for the background.  The table numbers and name "tags" I printed on plain white paper and set them against purple pearly paper.  I glued an organza ribbon underneath the table number and let it dangle freely, and clipped the name "tags" to the ribbon with mini wooden clothing pegs that my husband spray painted silver.  And I glued some hearty mirrors on there as well!
I added little purple roses in the corners too. :)

I tied a big butterfly bead to the bottom of the ribbon to weigh it down:

I also made the menus.  I used the same purple pearly paper as for the name "tags", and used some fancy scissors (that matched the invite) to cut out the printed menu part:

For the guests' gifts I filled up cute little jam bottles with my favourite jam (raspberry), and tied the "Thank you" tag to it with raffia. (this isn't a good pic, but as soon as I find the better one I'll repost!):

For the floral border, I used the WWFloralGreetings font.  I punched a hole using a heart shaped punch.

I also bought some of those ready-to-make gift boxes (the ones you just have to fold up), silver ones, and filled them with chocolate filled purple heart candies, wrapped in tissue paper.  Then I stuck a butterfly sticker on the side and a little organza rose on top (this isn't a good pic either, but I'll hopefully find the good one!):

My mum also made a couple of things for the wedding, and one of them was decorating my unity candles:
She decoupaged the butterflies and our wedding vows onto the candles.
And then, instead of having the usual flower arrangement in the chapel, we decided on something a little different, ie a tree covered with butterflies. My mum and my (future) brother-in-law made this tree, from polystyrene! (and paint).  Ain't it pretty??!!!  :D
CLICK ON THE PIC TO SEE IT BIGGER!

It came complete with a little bird (and bird poop), hehe:

My mum also took care of the centre pieces for the dinner tables.  She took big glass jars which she already had at home, bought some fake purple flowers, added some purple cellophane and a little battery operated light inside at the bottom to light it up nicely during the evening:
She also tied a silver ribbon around the top edge of the jar and stuck butterflies all over the outside of the jar (which isn't too clear on this pic)

My mum cut out all the butterflies for the centre pieces, for the tree in the chapel, butterflies that my sister sprinkled on the floor as she walked down the isle...there were hundreds and hundreds of butterflies!

THEN I made the thank you cards.  I kept it simple.  I cut out some purple cardboard, stuck on a photo, punched some holes with the hearty punch, tied some raffia around it and added a little "made with love" beading charm at the bottom:

And on the back I did the whole thank you thing. :)
After much research, I found some cute wording on the net, chose the best ones and put them together.
And that's my wedding! :)
Hope you enjoyed it.

Guest Party Gifts

I loooove making cute little gifts for guests when they come over for dinner or a BBQ, especially for special occasions like b'days and christmas etc.  I think it adds some additional cuteness to the occasion...and what guest doesn't like to receive a surprise little gift?! :)

It was recently my husband's b'day and we had family over for a BBQ.  I made these little gifts for everybody:

All this is, is a tiny box of cookies, wrapped up and decorated.
I placed them on everybody's placemats:

Little gifts like these don't have to be expensive, they're mostly just for the fun of it. :D
