Wedding Album Part 6 - Finally Finished!

After about 2 1/2 years our wedding album is finally finished! :D  I started it ages ago but then I lost the mood for doing scrapbooking, so I finally got back to it 2 weeks ago and finished it. :)
Here's part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4 and part 5 of the album.
This was the "I Do" part of the ceremony:
 The rings part:
 The "just married" chapel exit:
The background paper is so pretty that I didn't want to cover it up with too much decor, but I made a little "just married" floating balloon-looking thingie:

Ladybug Baby Album

I bought some of these cute cardboard cutout albums looooong ago, and finally had something to do with one of them - I'm gonna make Aidan's first little baby scrapbook album, hehe.

Here's the before:
I decorated the top like a ladybug:
Then I covered each "page" inside with scrapbook paper and either chalked or inked the edges just to round it off.  From the front:
From the back:
Now I need to fill it up with some baby stuff, eg sonar pics and other info like the first time I felt him move and other first time stuff like that. :D  I think it's going to be my cutest scrapbook yet.  :)

MyMemories Digital Scrapbooking Giveaway Part 2 - More Ideas

Here are some more layouts I made using the MyMemories Suite v2 digital scrapbooking software - the same software that you can win in my giveaway HERE, sponsored by My Memories! (it closes on 19 November, so you still have a few days left to enter if you want to win this incredibly fun prize!)  :)

There are hundreds of ready-to-use designer layouts to choose from, like this next one below - all the work is already done for you, all you have to do is add your photo (the only goodies I added here is the flourish at top left, and the butterfly):
And then there are probably thousands of unembellished background papers to choose from, where you can add your own embellishments...like the old-fashioned scrapbooking way. :)  I used a batty background paper and added all my own embellishments and frames here:
This digital scrapbooking software is quite addicting, I must have you know.  :)

My Memories Suite Digital Scrapbooking Giveaway!!

It's giveaway time!  :D
***CLOSED***
Winner will be announed on 26 or 27 November

And it's courtesy of My Memories, creator of My Memories Suite digital scrapbooking software.  If you've never tried digital scrapbooking before, now's your chance to give it a go, as we're giving away this software worth $40 to one lucky person!  See entry details below!

To be honest, I never thought I'd like digital scrapbooking, since I prefer working with real papers and embellishments....but I decided to give it a try because there seemed to be quite some hype about it.  To my surprise, not long after getting started, I actually thought it was good fun! :)  And here are some of the reasons why:

1.   there are hundreds of gorgeous decorated background designs to choose from...and I do mean gorgeous!

2.   there are tons of lovely embellishments and designs to further decorate your pages with - many of them look quite realistic too, and all you do is click on the desired embellishment to select it, and then drag it to where you want it on the page

3.   it's so simple to incorporate your photos onto your page, literally as easy as 2 double-clicks

4.   and then there are other fun things to do such as creating your own background designs from scratch, and you get to resize and flip over and spin around your embellishments which ever way you like - which does have it's advantages over manual scrapbooking :)

5.   and your embellishment stock NEVER runs empty!  Once you've got the embellishment, you can use it as many times as you like on as many layouts as you like - how's that for saving some money compared to old-fashioned scrapbooking. :)  Plus there are many other fun features and I can't mention it all here!

************************
And besides this super giveaway, there's an additional bonus for all my readers!  :)  If you're not  the lucky winner of this free digital scrapbooking software, you can still buy the My Memories Suite software for $10 off the normal price, but only if you use my special discount code: STMMMS59694
My special discount code will remain in my right side bar over here somewhere ----->, so whenever you're ready to buy this amazing software at this special discount price, just grab the code!  :)

But now back to the giveaway........

Here are some samples of what I've been doing with the My Memories Suite software (click on the images to see them enlarged!):
It really is a lot of fun to work with!  I'm definitely a new fan of digital scrapbooking, and although I'll never give up real paper scrapbooking altogether, I will be spending lots more time playing around with my new software...  :)

(What's also nice is, is that it's all digital, so even if you make a spelling mistake - like I did up there in case you noticed - it's easy to fix it up before printing)  Hehe.

So if you'd like to win this awesome prize, this is what you need to do - each point qualifies you for ONE entry into the draw, so if you complete all the points, you get 3 entries into the draw!

1.   you must be a follower of my blog; I want to see your photo in my followers list in my left sidebar ;) - leave me a comment saying that you're a follower (even existing followers need to do this, otherwise you won't be entered into the draw);

2.   visit My Memories, then leave me a comment naming your favourite digital paper pack or layout;

3.   using the linky below, submit a scrapbook layout that you've created, (paper or digital layouts welcome) OR if you're not yet a big scrapbooker, you may submit any craft that you've created using scrapbook or patterned paper, and then leave me a comment saying which one you submitted - any crafts not meeting these qualifications will be deleted. :(
GOOD LUCK! :)
P.S. - I'll be annoucing the winner on 26 November (going on a little vacation from 20-25th), so if I don't have your contact details, please check back around that time to see if you're a winner!  If you don't come and claim your prize within 7 days, I'm going to choose another winner! Tnx!

Wedding Album Project - Part 5

I told y'all I was on a roll here, hehe! Another page of my wedding album is completed!
This is part 1 of the ceremony:
I added some butterflies around this photo (and blings of course) - these were the butterflies that my sister threw down the isle:
Some more decorations...I stuck some wedding sticker goodies onto metallic purple scraps that I had left from making the guest seating plans, then I painted the edges white and added some bubble goodies:

Something about them just makes me think of road signs....but anyway!
I added some patterned photo corner decorations on this photo and added another wedding chip board embellishment through which I tied a white ribbon:

Wedding Album Project - Part 4

I'm on a roll now with this wedding album...hehe.  What better way to spend a rainy day than in your craft room, right?? :D  The only thing missing around here though is chocolate....how could we neglect to stock up on chocolates this weekend?! :0

Anyway, I've finished the second page of photos from just before the ceremony:
Here's me and my sister.  I decorated the photo with pretty photo corner stickers, and made a little tag from a chip board die cut, added some sticker letters and a purple butterfly brad:
I also added some wedding bells to the top corners of the page.  Here's me, also decorated with photo corner stickers and a bell.  I added some blings randomly on the page too:
A close up of these lovely photo corner stickers....I love 'em!
Here's a photo of me and my best friend on the way to the chapel (we were trying to figure out my new cell phone, lol).  I framed this photo and also made a tag saying "bff" (meaning "best friend forever" in case you didn't know), "best friend" wouldn't have fit on this teeny tag, so I had to settle for "bff", so.....I suppose we'll have to remain best friends FOREVER now....hehe!
And then, the left bottom corner of the page seemed too empty and I had to find something to put there, so I thought of writing a cute little sister/friend poem thingy or something, so this is what I came up with (I got these words from the net from some anonymous writer, but this was a sister quote, so I added "friends" in there too):
I wrote it on white card stock with a purple (scented) pen and added some blings yet again, glued the paper onto the scrapbook page and stuck a 3D mounted frame over it.   Not my neatest hand writing day, but nevermind, I couldn't wait for that day to come, heh heh!
I also decided to make use of my new buttons!
But I didn't want to over-decorate the page, as the paper was so pretty, it served to decorate the page adequately:

And that's 5 out of 20 pages completed! Whew! :)

Wedding Album Project - Part 3

I decided to get some work done on my wedding scrapbooking for a change!
I've done the reception hall page, and one of the pages for photos before the ceremony.
Here's the reception:
These are photos of the seating plans that I made, and of the table layouts...and the menu which I made too.
At the top of the page I glued some purple vellum paper, then "threaded" silver trimmed white ribbon through a chip board die cut label goodie and used silver stickers to spell out "reception" - I also added 3 little blings:
Then I added some glass pebbles to the page - I used these to decorate the tables in the hall, and I like using actual things from the event to decorate my scrapbook pages:
Some more decorations...I added a little mirror heart which I also used to decorate the seating plans with (you can see my seating plans in this post if you want):
And some more little decorations - little bubble blings and pretty photo corner stickers:
I have 2 pages showing photos taken just before the ceremony, and here's the first one that I've finished:
The pearly strings and pink bow are printed onto the actual scrapbook paper in case you were wondering.

I added some more chip board die cut goodies, and the flowers I decorated with some blings:

I added a cute rosy embellishment (I bought it just like that in a wedding decorating pack) to one of the photos.  On the other corners I just added cream pearls (you can see them in the full layout above):
Another photo I decorated with more chip board die cut photo corners, to which I added blings again:
I cut one of the photos smaller and added a frame around it, and......you guessed it.....I added more blings!

Wedding Album Project - Part 2

Finally I've gotten to page 2 of my album! :)
Part 1 featured the wedding invite, and Part 2 here features the chapel:
Along the bottom of the page I stuck of the butterflies that my sister sprinkled on the chapel floor as she walked down the isle.  Oh, and the heart shape on the bottom right is the bottles of bubbles.
I have too many photos, and so all the pages are probably going to be this full, but I can't help it!  I think it looks OK though, and this one doesn't look too crowded if you ask me.
Anyway, I thought since this page is about the chapel, I'd make the chapel photo the focus point (not that I think anyone can really tell that there's a focus point on this page, haha).  I did that by using beautiful little photo corner stickers:

I also featured one of the butterflies that was used on the chapel decoration - the tree that my mum and future brother-in-law made out of styrofoam (you can see more pics of the tree in this post).  I added some blue glitter glue all around it:
I love using rhinestones in scrapbooking because of the sparkle they give, so I added a few around the page.

I recreated the sweetie bags (which can be seen in this post) that I gave to everybody as they entered the chapel - I photocopied some of the heart shaped wedding themed sweets, cut them out and put them in the bag:
Then I printed our wedding vows, folded it up and put it into a cute little envelope.  I scraped the edges of the envelope on an inkpad to make it look more interesting: (isn't there a specific name for this scraping process...?  I guess I've just given away my amateur scrapbooker status, huh? Hehe.)
Finally I thought of something interesting to do!  The background page had a pretty twirly pattern on it, so I took gold glitter glue and traced over some of the twirls on selected parts of the page:
It didn't come out as neat as I'd hoped it would, but I think the idea is cool!  If you click on the first photo of this post to enlarge the photo, you'll be able to see a little more of where I added this gold glitter glue on the page.
And.....that's page 2 of my 20 page album! :D
