Silver Dry Embossed Card

Remember to enter my Who Made What? Weekend! linky party this weekend!

This lovely little card I made for The Sweet Stop, Challenge # 91!
This challenge was all about a sketch, as well as dry embossing!
So I had fun doing my first ever embossing thing!  I don't have an embossing machine, I used a manual goodie.  I also don't have embossing plates, so I used a silver embellishment to make an embossing pattern on my card:
I used ordinary white card stock.  This is how it turned out:
So....firstly I took some shiny silver gift wrapping ribbon (you know those curling metallic ribbons) and glued a strip across the card.  On most of the photos it looks black, but it's really not!
Then I used my Fiskars shape cutting goodie, and a square stencil made for this cutter, and cut out 2 different sized squares - the bigger one out of silver decorated vellum, and the second out of matt silver paper - which is actually an old envelope that I've kept because....well....it could be used for something just like this!
I then glued on 3 sets of little silver leaf goodies in a circle, and in the centre I added a silver bling.
And I added a pretty pearly button with sparkly string tied through it:
And for the text requirement, I used silver stickers to spell out "for u...", cut it out with fancy scissors, painted the edges with silver paint (I don't have a silver ink pad to have inked the edges, but I liked the way it turned out this way!), and I 3D mounted it onto the card:
It's late afternoon so the light wasn't at it's best for photo taking, which means I couldn't get a photo of the whole card where you can also see the embossing, so I took some close ups:
And that's that for my first embossing! :D

I love your card... and the discriptive way you told how you made it is very helpful! So pretty! I did have alot of trouble reading your blog, though. Maybe you should choose a black color for your font... the blue on lavender - just not enough contrast to be able to read the words.
Thanks for sharing!
